I shot this portrait of my then neighbor, Steve Kushner, in 1970.
Steve was one of the best artists I have ever met. A true Renaissance Man.
I was so pleased to be able to capture some of Steve’s intensity in this
portrait. He really liked it, as did I.
Today is Steve Kushner’s birthday. He is greatly missed, even though we lost touch for
years. I recorded a telephone conversation when we spoke after 38 years. Here it is.

I inherited a fantastic piece of art that he created and I’m looking for others. Any contact info or catalog listings available anyone has would help greatly.
Been looking for info on Steve’s early works in the black and white line style. I inherited one from my parents and always admired it. Tried to contact him through his site, but no response.
