Today is my father’s birthday. I miss him. It’s hard when you lose your parents. It’s been years now, but there is still a hole in my life.
My father loved sunsets. This photograph is dedicated to him on his day.

Loving this shot, how the hell do you get that subtle light in the leaves in the foreground with the sunburst in the background?
Matt,
Glad you like the photograph. This shot was a combination of two techniques. First, I used the on-camera flash to through some light into the foreground. Second, it was shot in camera RAW format which allows me to adjust the range by applying fill-in and still keep the black. The newest technique to to this would be HDR, but that usually requires a tripod and multiple exposures.
