Shot on this date, last year. I miss Philly sometimes, but it’s great to be in San Diego…
Skylines are one of my favorite photographic subjects. There is such a graphic element to the way the buildings break the sky. Each angle has a unique perspective. I especially like the lighting on this one. It was shot from he passenger side of a moving car.

City Sparrows Silhouette
Center City, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – February 22, 2008
Shot four years ago, today, in Center City Philadelphia.
I want to thank everyone for their wonderful feedback on yesterday’s story. I will try and give a little more background on the photographs.
There’s not much to say about this one except I was in Center City, my wife was at a doctor appointment and I decided to take a walk and shoot some pictures.
This was taken over by the freeway. I decided to make it a high contrast silhouette. It was a bird kind of day, here are other photographs taken the same day.

Pepper on Peanuts and Questioning Cop

I was searching my archives for photographs I took on this date, February 17. I came across these taken two years apart and couldn’t decide which to showcase today. The thought occurred to me that they might look interesting as a composition. I know it’s very unusual, but I found it interesting. Sometimes you have to venture out of your comfort zone and have a little fun…

We were at the produce market and I spotted this pepper and decided to shoot it on the spot. Laid it on the sacks of peanuts and shot it. Added a little softening glow in Photoshop, and here it is. I thought it was fun and wanted to share it. All comments appreciated…

Center City Rush Hour -Philadelphia – January 29, 2008
Well, today I thought I would post something a little different and I’ve been thinking about this image lately.
Shot on a rainy Winter day in 2008, I obviously manipulated the heck out of it. It’s a combination of HDR, motion blur and partial black & white conversion. With today’s tools, it’s easy to get carried away…
