Not the Bayou

Not the Bayou, View of the Delaware Off River Road - Pennsylvania - November 4, 2005

View of the Delaware Off River Road, Pennsylvania – November 4, 2005

It’s “Not the Bayou,” but it could be. I took this almost five years ago. There is a feeling about it I really like.

Serene and surrealistic? What do you think?

Wooden Bird

Wooden Bird - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - May 13, 2010

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – May 13, 2010

We have had this wood carving for years. We bought it at a local craft fair, It is hand carved
out of walnut and ash, I believe. It came perched on the dried branch. My wife, Arlene, decided
to put it out in our yard this year. The wind blew the leaves of the rose bush onto it
and we loved how it looked almost real, from a distance, anyway. I decided to
shoot a still life of it.

I gave it a little ethereal glow.

Hope you like it.

Light Through Rose

Light Through Rose

My backyard – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – May 18, 2007

I shot this 3 years ago today in my backyard. I illuminated the rose from behind with an off-camera flash.
I originally sent out and posted this photograph on October 13, 2008.

And yes, I know it looks like a Georgia O’Keefe. I am flattered by the comparison.
